M1 WIND FARM

Milestones

Site identification

The site was brought to Wind Prospect's attention by Pollock Associates, who represent the landowners.

Environmental studies commenced

In order for us to submit a planning application for the M1 Wind Farm, an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) needs to be undertaken, which requires various environmental studies to assess potential impacts.

Many of these studies can only be undertaken at certain times of the year, and so in May 2009, the first EIA studies, ecology and ornithology, commenced. See Studies for more information on individual studies.

Wind monitoring mast application : 9th Sep 2010

An application for a temporary wind monitoring mast, or anemometer, was submitted to South Northamptonshire Council and validated on 9th September 2010.

Wind monitoring mast determination : 25th Oct 2010

Our planning application for a 60 metre high temporary wind monitoring mast was approved by South Northamptonshire Council. The mast will provide us with valuable information on wind speed and direction in this area, and will also aide in the noise impact assessment, where baseline noise information is correlated to wind speed and direction. The mast will be in place for a period of 2 years.
